We have a 40 year reputation of developing great coaches. One of the most successful coaches in the history of athletics; Anson Dorrance, coached Rainbow Soccer. There are countless other players and coaches who have started with us.
To this day we accept and encourage new coaches. Guides are available to help coaches, and we also offer training courses, and accreditation with the US Soccer Federation. We are a family club, and that extends to the coaching staff who help each other to ensure that the players are always learning and having fun.

For parents who are interested in coaching, we do offer playing credits that can be used to offset the cost of your child playing, or give you the chance to play in our adult league.
For students, you also will receive a playing credit and will be able to play in our adult league, and your coaching may qualify for Community Service Hours. Should you be in a fraternity or sorority, it is likely to have a long and and healthy relationship supporting Rainbow, so do ask your chapter President for more information.
All games take place on Saturday mornings, and the season runs from the middle of March, to the middle of May.
- The Rainbow Fields are in South West Chapel Hill, near University Mall. These are the closest fields to Campus.
- The Homestead park and Cedar Falls fields are in North Chapel Hill, on MLK Jr, and opposite Chapel Hill East High School.
- The Southern Village, Southern Community fields are in Southern Village, a few miles south of Chapel Hill on 15-501.
Coaches:
You must register on the Coaches Registration page before registering any players that you wish to claim as complimentary registrations.
- Once you have registered as a coach, you should have a $0 balance
- Click “pay now” at the end of your registration and you’ll receive an email with complimentary coupon codes.
- There is a yellow box asking if you want to register anyone else.
- You should ignore this box and simply complete your coaches registration to prompt the automatic email communicating the appropriate codes to register a player or players.
- If you do not receive it within minutes, check your spam folder and call the office for more information.
