A Time for Winning – A Time for Learning

There is a huge over-emphasis on winning at the younger age levels. Teams that are focused about winning at the U10 and under age groups, may be nowhere to be seen at U16 and U17. When winning is the emphasis…

  • The short cuts taken are the physical abilities, not skill and technique.
  • The top priority of is not what it should be – player development.
  • It is hard to create a positive learning environment due to the stresses created from winning and losing.

We don’t keep win/loss records, and we don’t keep scores. We focus entirely on player development.

This means that matches are managed in a way to keep the game as competitive as possible. We want every player to be challenged for as long as possible. Our ideal result is 4-4. In such a game both teams have had success in attack and been challenged in defense. Most importantly, the players on both teams will have remained engaged in the game and had fun.

We believe in this approach to Youth Development, and offer it without the costs and inconvenience associated with challenge and classic soccer. We are proud to announce the following coaches for the Spring 2012 season.

  • Under 6
  • Under 8
  • Under 8 Girls
