The key purpose of our club is to provide recreational soccer opportunities to the local community, as laid out in our Mission Statement. By joining, you make a direct and positive contribution to the lives of many young children in our community. Thank you for making this commitment. Whether you are a parent coaching for the first time, or a seasoned pro we appreciate you.

In Rainbow Soccer, we choose to tone down the heavy emphasis on winning and competition by offering an open and protected opportunity for a shared athletic experience.  We strive to play and teach excellent soccer, developing technique and ball skills. For 39 years Rainbow has led the way at the State and National level with this approach to recreational soccer.

Chapel Hill United provides the same opportunities in a more challenging environment. We try to do so without the costs and inconvenience associated with challenge and classic soccer. We are proud of our heritage and tradition. In xxxx it was members of Chapel Hill United that went onto form Triangle United.

The new U12 and U15 leagues are vitally important. By the age of 14 one in four children will never play a team sport again. We must continue to provide opportunity to those that wish to play.

As a coach we ask that you focus on teaching skills, creating a positive experience for the players, and having fun. The coaches set the tone and the pace, especially for the youth players, both by teaching and by setting an example. As part of my role I will do all I can to support you achieve these goals.

Substitute during your own team’s throw-ins, goal kicks, or corner kicks and make every effort to play everyone as much as possible.  Especially on the youth teams, the coaches are responsible for the kind of experience the players have – be positive, sensitive, encouraging, fair, attentive and understanding.

It is very important that coaches be on time for practices and games.  If you can’t make it to practice or a match, please let us know as soon as possible so there’s as much time as possible to help you find someone to cover for you.  Please do not cancel your team’s practice on your own.  We will make every effort to help you find a fill-in coach in the case of an emergency!

The best clubs promote an atmosphere of fun and good sportsmanship among fellow players, coaches, referees and spectators. I am proud to welcome you to our club.
